Description of courses:

All classes are capped at 14 participants at Brown Street and 16 online via Zoom. This allows me to maintain a high level of individual attention and supervision.

Pilates is a precise method, and class numbers need to remain small so I can offer detailed instruction and ensure safe, effective technique. These sessions are very different from gym-style classes, where close supervision of Pilates form is often limited.

Classes run in 10-week terms, with two recorded sessions provided for the weeks between terms. To build a strong foundation and truly benefit from Pilates, regular weekly attendance is essential. The method is progressive and specific. Consistent participation is what builds body awareness and develop muscle memory, strength, control, and confidence over time.

Level 1 Beginners/Progressive The course covers the foundations of Pilates, how to breathe correctly during Pilates exercises and how to effectively engage your core. Over the 10 week period the class will progress according to the level of participants, mastering some of the classic Pilates exercises. This class incorporates the use of therabands for challenge and assistance.

Level 2 Intermediate This is an intermediate class and prior Pilates experience and a solid understanding of the foundations of Pilates is essential. If in doubt, use the contact form and ask. This class will utilise overballs, therabands and foam rollers adding a stability and strength challenge and a new dimension to your workout.

Open This class is for clients who have done at least one term of my beginners course and have a good understanding of the foundations. It will cater to all levels but the class will have a consistent flow and the option of progression or regression in exercises. Small apparatus is also used in this class.

The cost is $275 in the space (10 weeks + 2 recordings), and $185 (via Zoom 10 weeks + 2 recordings + 2 face to face classes) and is paid by the term. 

Missed classes If a class is missed and I’m notified 24 hours or more prior, then you can make it up by attending another session during the same course period or I can send you the Zoom recording which is available for 1 week. I ask you to contact me to let me know if you won’t be able to make your usual session so I can accommodate absences as much as possible.

All classes are one hour. Please bring your own mat to class and a towel if you wish. Therabands, overballs and foam rollers can be purchased at wholesale prices through me.
